The computer with wireless internet (cable modem) is in the kitchen. The XBox 360 is downstairs. Do we need one of those $100 internet receiver things for the XBox? I thought it could receive wireless without one. Obviously, I'm not really clear on how it all works... Please Help Me!

There is no built in Wi Fi reciever for the 360. You will either need to run a RJ-45 cable from your modem to the 360 or get a wireless reciever for the system. I have the Xbox one which runs $100 and find it more reliable than the off brand I used before. With the off brand I would have connection problems after major updates and I never have a problem with the 260 brand.

Its more expensive but I don't recomend the cheaper ones unless you or you child are good with computers.
